Bemutatkozás
„Hammer Eszter vagyok. Hat éve élek Németországban, ahol értékes tapasztalatokat szereztem a szakterületemen.
What will a day look like as a Clinical Dental Hygienist?
The Clinical Dental Hygienist is an indispensable member of the dental team, working alongside dentists, dental assistants, and dental technicians. While their tasks are carried out under the indication and supervision of a dentist, they also have a range of independent responsibilities. Their primary autonomous role lies in educating and guiding patients in maintaining oral health. In their daily practice, they provide preventive care as part of pediatric, youth, and adult dental services. They are actively involved in educational and community programs in various settings such as kindergartens, schools, prenatal care, and facilities for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, or those who are homebound. A key aspect of their work is patient education, where they teach proper toothbrushing techniques, the use of different types of toothpaste, and methods of chemical plaque control. They also perform preventive dental interventions, conduct oral hygiene and aesthetic assessments, and provide treatments in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Additionally, they participate in oral cancer screenings, assist in patient care, and offer psychological support when needed. Infection prevention is another important responsibility, as is the ability to provide first aid and perform basic life support (CPR). To fulfill their role effectively, Clinical Dental Hygienists must possess advanced professional knowledge along with foundational pedagogical and psychological skills to ensure both technical excellence and meaningful patient communication.
